Home → EstiMate Version 1 → Financials: Hard Numbers Etc. → Why does my selling price not doubled when the sign is twice the size?
EstiMate is designed to price on true time and materials not arbitrary formulas so it will take into account factors like hourly rate, cost and markup on materials, and adjustments to profit to come up with a resultant price.
In this schema of pricing when you have a sign of a certain size you have one design time and one production time wrapped up in that sign. When you increase the size of the sign to be twice as large, the price does not double because your design and production are spread out over more area of the sign, hence there is an increase but not an exact doubling.
If you want to make sure you are making a profit on the job, double-click in the subtotal field and view the hard numbers.
If your profit percentage on the right is in the 20% - 45% range typically then you are showing a good profit margin and can proceed with the quote.
