3.16. Borland $2108 Error?

I install EstiMate but when I double-click on the icon to run it I get a borland $2108 error. What do I need to do to get my software running?

Procedure Summary:

1. Uninstall EstiMate via the Add/remove programs icon in your computers control panel. (Start > Settings > Control Panel or Start > Control Panel).

2. Delete the EstiMate directory if present.

3. Reinstall EstiMate.

IMPORTANT: When reinstalling EstiMate make sure you are installing the FULL version NOT an update!

The best scenario is to install EstiMate from your program CD. If you do not have a CD contact EstiMate technical support for a replacement or a full version installer.

Procedure:

2A. Right-Click on your Start Icon and select “Explore”. Windows Explorer will appear.

2B. In the left hand column open the C drive icon, if it is not already open, and find the ‘Program Files’ file folder. click the plus sign to the left of ‘Program Files’ to open it.

2C. Find the EstiMate folder in the list of folders under the Program Files directory. Right-click on the EstiMate folder and select the delete menu option. If you get a message asking if you want to send it to the recycle bin or if you are 'sure' you want to delete it, click the 'Yes' button. TIP: If you do not see the EstiMate folder, make sure you are looking in ‘Program Files’ and NOT simply ‘Programs’.

2D. You have now successfully deleted the EstiMate folder.

If you have read thru the above and do not see the EstiMate directory then proceed with step 3.

3. Re-install EstiMate. Be sure to temporarily disable your virus protection software first and then do the installation. Remember to enable your virus protection software again after installing EstiMate.

Troubleshooting Tips:

If you perform the process above but the problem still persists and you are running Windows 2000 or XP then check your user permissions. If the account you are using is a limited user account, then ask your computer administrator to login and then re-do the process above.
