3.19. Cannot Associate sales tax error when trying to import jobs into quickbooks?

After I have exported my jobs from EstiMate and then try to import the file into QuickBooks, I get an error message that says:

"You can not associate an item with sales tax
payable, undeposited funds, accounts receivable, accounts payable or non
posting accounts, usually if you sell an item use an income account or if
you buy an item use an expense account."

QuickBooks is not recognizing tax account information from EstiMate. Instead it creates a new tax item that is a service item and not a tax item at all.

In quickbooks under the sales tax payable account create a new item called "state sales tax" or anything other than simply "sales tax" and make sure the new item you create under the sales tax payable account is a TAX ITEM and not any other type.

In EstiMate click Management > Quickbooks link > Configure QuickBooks Export and click the plus sign to the left of your taxes and discounts entry. Change the tax item to whatever name you are calling it in QuickBooks, and save. Note that by default the "Sales tax item in QB" is called "Sales Tax:" and this will need to be changed.

Your objective is to input the new sales tax item you created in quickbooks into the Sales tax item in QB field
on EstiMate's account assignments screen.
