Home → EstiMate Version 1 → How Do I... → Adding additional charges?
Additional charges can be added in one of two ways: via the line item called 'Other' or 'Free Form' and by using the shop workload slider.
To add a premium charge via 'other' or 'Free Form' take the following steps:
1. From EstiMate's main screen click New Estmate>add item>other or free form.
2. Enter in the description of the charge, for example '24 Hour Rush Charge'
3. Select 'Flat Rate Item' from the type of item drop down box.
4. Enter the quantity and price.
5. The tax box is checked automatically. If you don't want to charge tax on this item then uncheck the tax box and click the Calculate Total button.
6. Click the green check mark to OK this line item and add it to the estimate.
To use the shop workload slider to add the premium charge:
Most of the time the shop workload slider will stay at 50% and be a constant throughout your estimating. Above 50% it will add to profit and below 50% it will subtract. If a customer needs a rush job and is willing to pay extra for it; you could put it up to 100% to add to the profit side of the equation and cover yourself for the extra workload that your shop will have because of the need for the quick turn-around and extra personnel hours.
