Home → EstiMate Version 1 → How Do I... → How do I enter and price banner blanks that differ in height but have the same cost?
In summary, the answer is to create separate enteries in the substrate databases each with the same cost but different height dimensions like 1', 2', 3' respectively. Then when in the vinyl signs screen select the appropriate substrate that reflects the height of the banner the custoemer has selected and proceed with the rest of the quote as normal.
Detailed directions on this procedure follow:
1. To enter the banner in the substrate database, from EstiMate's main screen click Edit Data Files > Ingredients > Substrates.
2. Click the 'New' button to create a new entry in the substrate database. Enter a description like '10oz white 1'high banner'
3. In the height and width dimensions select 'feet' and put 1 in the height field and 1 in the width field respectively.
4. Place your cost in the cost field, enter your desired markup and click the green OK checkmark. You will arrive back in the substrate database.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 replacing the height dimension in the description and the database with 2', 3' etc. keeping the cost and markup the same.
6. When you reach the next pricing tier from the supplier then update your height, cost and markup again and continue repeating steps 2-5 until all banners have been entered.
In this way you can price your banners without driving the material cost arbitrarily high.
