4.71. How do I enter pre-made banner blanks and precut aluminum substrates?

How do I go about entering pre-made banner blanks and precut aluminum substrates in EstiMate while still accounting for the fact that the price per square inch will vary with the individual sizes?

1. (Recommended) Create a 'catch all' banner substrate. This will require going thru your list of banner blanks from your supplier, then choose a banner blank that is toward the middle of the list to use as your catch all. Enter the cost and markup for that blank in EstiMate along with a description like'pre-cut banners'. This will work as an average for your banner pricing. This way when someone selects 'pre-cut banners' from the substrate list, for example, and enters in the associated height and width you will know your costs and profit are accounted for. This technique can also be applied to pre-cut aluminum substrates.

2. In the second method you would simply enter each banner blank or pre-cut aluminum substrate into the database individually with it's associated cost and markup while checking the box 'Automatically enter height and width information on estimates'. Then when doing an estimate select the banner from the substrate list and EstiMate will put in the correct height and width automatically into the estimate. After that it will simply be a matter of selecting your vinyls and their associated coverages and adjusting your subjectives as needed.
