Home → EstiMate Version 1 → Financials: Hard Numbers Etc. → Is there a shortcut for filling out the overhead worksheet?
A shortcut is available via the following formula:
Gross Income from previous year - (net) from 1040 or corporate tax form = yearly expenses. Yearly expenses/12 = Monthly expenses.
Enter your monthly expenses into one of the fields labeled 'other' on the overhead worksheet and click the green OK checkmark to accept your changes.
Here is an example:
A Sign Company Grosses $85,000 in the past year. Their net income is $50,000. $85,000 (Gross) - $50,000 (Net) = $35,000 (expenses). $35,000 (Yearly Expenses) / 12 (months) = $2916.67 (Monthly Expenses).
In the above example the sign shop owner would place the $2916.67 monthly expense figure into the 'Other' column of the overhead worksheed to represent his/her monthly expenses.
