3.103. Material markups don't seem right?
When I have my material markups set to 100%, and calculate a simple job, my material markups come out higher than my material costs when I look at the hard numbers. Why?
This issue has been resolved. Please update your software to version 1.04 or better (the latest version can always be found at www.ampweb.com/estimate).
The issue here is transfer tape: in versions prior to 1.04 the software added 1 cent per sq. in. to the profit side of the hard numbers, which caused two problems; one was that the overall sign price was too high, the other was the skew in the hard numbers. Beginning with version 1.04 this has been corrected to show 1/10 of a cent per sq. in. split evenly on both sides of the hard numbers.
As always, re-adjust your market levels after installing any update to EstiMate.
I recently received Estimate Basic with a cutter I purchased from signwarehouse.com. It is the best software program of ANY type I have ever owned, tried, or seen. And I have used a lot. I've been using a computer since 1989, and have over 20 years experience in the sign industry. If you need a reference of any kind, refer it to me. I'd recommend Estimate to anyone who owns a sign company or needs help pricing, or getting organized. It is soooooooo easy to use and learn. It's awesome--I love it! Whoever came up with this is a genius... period!
